“If the both of us can’t be happy with these good ladies, we would have to consider our own failings to be at fault.”

These words from Kofi Grenville, recently returned from his music studies in Italy, to his half-brother, Lord Fredrick Grenville.

In WET MOCCASINS you will meet frontier women and men who loved and cared for them, or men who used and abused them. Hardship, struggle for survival, young men going off to war, rising animosity of the colonies toward the mother country . . . all told in these pages. This, the twelfth and final installment in The Mockingbird Hill Series, completes the story of the Talleighs and the Grenvilles in early South Carolina. I hope all my readers who have followed the tale from the beginning have enjoyed reading about the beginnings of South Carolina as much as I have enjoyed researching and writing.
