In Who Walk in Darkness, the Quigleys undergo another test. This one is more dangerous and more mysterious than any they have encountered before.

Involved is a hand-of-glory and two evil, ancient creatures reincarnated as mother and daughter. All three hold a grudge for the Quigleys and have vowed revenge. Along the way, they meet new friends, some of whom wind up joining the family. They also encounter obstacles, a cyclone and a sandstorm among them.

Knowing they are going to be trapped in another dimension created by a powerful sorceress bent on killing them all, they go willing although with misgivings because the Old Man has told them someone needs rescuing. Since a Quigley can't seem to resist any challenge presented to them and they are accustomed to doing the Old Man's bidding, this is nothing new to them.

One of these days, their altruism could get them killed.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

The author was born in Buffalo, New York. In 1970 she and her family moved to a haunted house in southern New York State. The house became the subject of her first book, Echoes of a Haunting and a re-issue of the book titled Echoes of a Haunting Revisited. The experience precipitated a move west to California in 1975 where she worked for the City of Santa Clara until 1990. In December of that year she retired to the central Oregon coastal community of Florence with her mother, Ann. Their dog "Dear" Abby serves as their guardian angel. Their family also includes four cats: Keely, Little Bits, Duncan and Pixie. Duncan has obviously been teaching the kitten since she already knows how to turn on the radio and change the settings on the alarm clock.
